Internet Explorer (IE6) will accumulate cookies and other files from the web. Unfortunately, some of these files may be spyware or virus files. This will not solve every problem, but I have solved many accumulated problems using this procedure. This example was done on a system running IE6 and WinXP Professional.

Start IE6

(I am using IE Version
6.0.2900 for this example).

Click
"Tools"
and then click
"Internet Options..."

Then click on
"Delete Cookies..."

Then click "OK" and wait for the process to finish. This can take several minutes.

This will result in the internet Cookies that have accumulated to be deleted from your hard disk.

Then click on
"Delete Files..."

Then click "OK" and wait for the process to finish. This can take several minutes. This usually takes longer than deleting cookies.

Then, after the process completes, click "OK"

Then click "OK" and then click on "OK" and the procedure is completed.
